Renovation of the Hoorn City Hall
The Hoorn City Hall, originally designed in the 1970s by A.E. Küpfer of bureau Taubel, has undergone a major renovation to meet contemporary standards of sustainability, comfort, and accessibility. While its characteristic architectural identity has been preserved, new functions including a modern council chamber and updated office spaces have been added. The building was renovated according to circular principles, incorporating reused materials and energy-efficient systems.
BRTA Architecten designed the renewed interior, allowing the distinctive 1970s architecture to shine. In both the council chamber and the office areas, Ploeg’s “Kombu” and “Vliet” curtain fabrics were applied, complementing the building’s stylish and functional design.
